GNSS is spearheaded by the Medical Physics Department of the School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences, University of Ghana (UG) and the Physics Department of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The Summer School is held annually at different locations in Ghana for students and practitioners of Medical Physics, Radiography, Radiation Protection and related fields. The topics covered vary from year to year. Lecturers with academic and clinical backgrounds are recruited from partner institutions in Ghana and Norway. Participants are selected from different regions of Ghana, other African countries and Norway. The Summer School is a meeting place for both students and professionals. There are plans to include scientific presentations as an increasingly important part of the School.
