EMP News Winter 2021 Issue

EFOMP is delighted to announce the publication of the Winter 2021 issue of its quarterly newsletter, European Medical Physics News! You will see that there have been some design changes, especially a brand new EFOMP logo, which adorns the front page we hope you like it!

In this issue you can read five articles connected with IOMP’s International Day of Medical Physics, which took place on 7th November and was taken up enthusiastically in EFOMP member countries. You will also find two first-in-series articles: Danielle Dobbe-Kalkman’s “Meet the Prof”, in which she interviews an experienced teacher of Medical Physics, and Jonas Andersson and Gavin Poludniowski’s “Hacking Medical Physics”, covering IT and software for Medical Physics.

Of course, the newsletter includes all our regular features, including a medical physics book review, reports of recent meetings and an overview of recent papers published in Physica Medica by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Iuliana Toma-Dasu. This time, the Medical Physicists’ Hobbies section contains an article about modern art appreciation and collecting. You can also find two “Medical Physics Thesis” articles from recent Master’s degree graduates, summarising their research projects.

Last, but definitely not least – articles from EFOMP Company Members are always appreciated by our readership, and in this issue you can find very informative articles from nine Company Members.

We hope you will enjoy reading this issue of European Medical Physics News! Please do feel free to pass on the link or the pdf to friends, colleagues and students who you think might be interested. And if you have an idea for a topic that you would like to see covered, or if you would like to contribute an article, just send us an email!

Finally, we wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes!

David Lurie and the Editorial Team (pubcommittee@efomp.org), December 2021.
