International Medical Physics Week (IMPW) 2021 being held on 26-30 April is approaching. I hope many of you have made plans to celebrate using virtual format, in light of current pandemic circumstances.
From IOMP side, we shall have one webinar every day at 12 noon GMT as that provides best compromise among diverse time-zones involved. The final program for the webinars during IMPW2021 is now available.
We have also started preparing for the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP). The theme for IDMP2021 is Communicating the role of medical physicists to the public. Please visit webpage of IDMP for latest updates. There is a news item calling for ideas in this issue of the newsletter.
We are going to contact Council members of IOMP soon with Agenda and documents for the Virtual meeting of the IOMP Council scheduled on 1st June 2021 at 12 noon (GMT).
The pandemic has heightened the importance of everything virtual, even if the same activity has been in use for a long time. In this issue of the newsletter, we have an article on Virtual imaging trials, a project of the Duke University which has just received funding from National Institute of Health (NIH) of USA. For more information, please see the article.
