As 2025 draws to a close, this winter edition of European Medical Physics News looks back on an eventful autumn and the beginning of winter, showcasing the energy, collaboration, and innovation that continue to drive the European medical physics community in Europe and beyond. As every winter, we celebrated the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) on 7 November. This year’s theme, “Medical Physics and Emerging Technologies: Shaping the Next Decade,” is strongly reflected throughout this issue. Contributions from National Member Organisations across Europe highlight a shared vision and a collective commitment to advancing our profession in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Looking ahead, this edition offers a preview of the European Congress of Medical Physics (ECMP 2026) in Valencia, alongside reflections on recent EFOMP activities and ongoing initiatives.
