IMPW 2021 information, IDMP 2021 theme, Council meeting, Accreditation
Dear Colleagues,
Hope the new year started well for you and loved ones. Vaccine has given a new hope that looks very promising.
We have following programs to bring to your attention:
- International Medical Physics Week (IMPW) shall be held on 26-30 April 2021. Please visit the webpage to get the latest information. You are encouraged to organize virtual meetings to stimulate interest and create learning. We will be happy to include your events on IMPW webpage. Please feel free to send information to Magdalena Stoeva.
- International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP). The theme for IDMP2021 was decided and it is Communicating the role of medical physicists to the public. Please visit webpage of IDMP for latest updates. Once again, please feel free to send information to Magdalena Stoeva.
- Virtual meeting of the IOMP Council. The Council meets every three years at the World Congress (WC) on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering. Since this year’s WC has been moved to June 2022 in view of COVID-19, we decided to have a virtual meeting of the Council in any way on 1st June 2021 at 12 noon (GMT). We are conscious that this will imply very inconvenient time for those in Pacific region, Asia Oceania and Western United States, but that seems only option for the time, and it will be similar to the situation we face for our webinars. The council meeting is open only to Council members of IOMP. It consists of delegates of national member organizations (NMOs), of Regional Organizations besides ExCom members of IOMP. If you had elections in 2020 and have not communicated your current delegates to the Secretary General, IOMP (sg.omp@gmail.com), you must do it right away as invitations have already been sent to those in our list asking for any item for inclusion in agenda of the meeting by 15th March 2021.
