Brief Description of Academic Program(s), Clinical Training, and Duration: The academic program covers 74 credits, 40 of which correspond to core courses, 14 to elective courses, and 20 to a clinical residency. The core courses are: Introduction to Medical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Radiobiology, and Instrumentation. Elective courses are: Radiation Physics and Dosimetry, Radiation Protection, Physics of Medical Imaging, Image Processing, Medical Uses of Lasers, Biomechanics and Biomaterials. The clinical residency consists of rotation through five public hospitals in Mexico City. A thesis is required. The duration of the program is 4 semesters.

Admission Requirements for Citizen of the Country: B.Sc. in Physics, or similar career (100% credit work is sufficient). A diagnostic exam is applied to recommend propedeutic undergraduate courses, if necessary.

Additional Admission Requirements for Foreign Nationals: Same. The diagnostic exam can be replaced by the GRE in physics.

Availability of Scholarship/Fellowship and Pertinent Requirements: UNAM offers graduate fellowships to full time students having a GPA higher than 8.0 (over 10).
