IOMP International Advisory Council

 

The charge to the International Advisory Council is to improve the global practice of medical physics by providing advice to the IOMP Governing Council concerning international initiatives, collaborations and programs that will enhance science, education and professional achievements worldwide.

  1. The International Advisory Council (IAC) will consist of two representatives each from each regional IOMP member, four members-at-large from geographic regions not represented by a regional organization, one representative each from IOMP affiliates (e.g. IAEA, PAHO, WHO, etc.), the IOMP President, the IOMP Vice-President and the IOMP Secretary General.
  2. All members of the IAC will serve ex-officio as a result of nomination by the body represented and will consist of the President and Vice-President of each regional organization unless otherwise designated by formal agreement between the IOMP and the organization.
  3. The IAC will be chaired by the IOMP President and will meet semi-annually by e-mail or using Internet connection with the exception of one real meeting at each occurrence of the World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.
  4. The IAC will provide advice to the IOMP Governing Council on all topics under consideration by the IOMP Governing Council.
  5. A written record of IAC recommendations will be supplied to IOMP Governing Council members to facilitate improved effectiveness in achieving IOMP goals.
  6. All IAC members will as a courtesy receive copies of all IOMP Council supporting documents, minutes and decisions as well as a copy of Medical Physics World to keep them informed of IOMP activities.
